Shingo Maekawa, vocalist of the rock band Kariyushi 58, has recently agreed to collaborate with the “OKINAWA SUITS” project, which creates fashion suits from vintage Kariyushi wear. The project is currently holding a collection event for vintage Kariyushi wear at San-A Urasoe West Coast Parco City.

Creative producer Kenichiro Koyama, owner of Yanbaru Hostel in Hentona, Kunigami Village, launched the project at the end of May. Maekawa supports the initiative and will assist with promotional activities.

The project is currently seeking corporate partners. Koyama emphasized the significance, stating, “Companies can encourage collection by offering benefits to those who bring in kariyushi. This helps attract customers to stores and prevents kariyushi from being discarded.”

The collection event is held at the special venue in the Center Plaza on the 2nd floor of Parco City. Bringing in kariyushi wear earns a ¥500 San-A gift certificate. Limited to one per family per day. Runs until the 25th.
