Former Rapper and Visionary Entrepreneur Discusses SDGs in Okinawa

“I approach every business venture as part of solving social issues,” says Kenichiro Koyama, head of Kenichiro Koyama Creative Produce Office (Kunigami Village, Okinawa Prefecture). He relocated his work base from Osaka to a small village in northern Okinawa, revitalizing a defunct hotel and upcycling unused kariyushi wear into suits, promoting SDGs activities from Okinawa. This 35-year-old unconventional entrepreneur, formerly a rapper who has worked in the fashion industry and construction, says, “I want to combine it with cultural expression, not just solving social problems.”
